Delete your Hexeon account
This page exists so you can ask for your Hexeon account to be deleted without signing in. That is all it is for. If you can still reach your account, the Account screen in the game does the same thing and does it faster.
How to do it
Give the address your account uses. We send a one-time code to it. You send the code back, and the deletion is requested.
The code does one job: it confirms the address is yours. Without that check, knowing somebody's address would be enough to have their account deleted.
If that address has no Hexeon account, we tell you so. You proved the address is yours by reading the code, and from that point whether it belongs to an account is yours to know. There is then nothing to delete and nothing else happens.
What happens next
The deletion takes effect seven days after you ask.
During those seven days the request can be cancelled. That window exists for requests made in anger, requests made by mistake, and requests that were not made by you at all. After it, the deletion is final and nothing undoes it.
The rest does not wait. From the moment you ask, your sessions are closed everywhere, your devices stop being registered for notifications, and your avatars stop being playable. No message is sent to you during the window.
The law allows us one month to act on an erasure request (GDPR, article 12(3)). We do not use that month and we ask for no extension: seven days.
Seven days is when we act. Our backups run on a thirty-day cycle.
What is erased
Irreversibly, on the effective date: your addresses and sign-in identifiers, your sessions, your entire inbox, the account itself, its preferences, your feats and your board entries.
One qualification, because it is true of every service and leaving it out would be dishonest: our backups still hold this data until they expire, 30 days after they are made. Nothing is ever returned to live use from one.
What is kept, with nothing linking it to you
Your avatars and their economic history remain, anonymised. The avatar keeps its numbers, loses its name, and loses every link to your account.
We would rather say this plainly than bury it in an annex: a trade is a mutual record. The ledger of whoever traded with you, the auction house's price history and the world's production totals are other players' data and the state of the world itself. They cannot be rewritten because one side of a trade left, and a market does not run backwards.
Aggregates that carry no identifier also remain: weekly totals, gauge histories, price series.
Your Hexes return to the common domain under the ordinary cryogenics rule. Deletion does not invent a second procedure.
The detail
The privacy policy carries the full list of data, the lawful basis for each and how long each is kept, including the anonymised retention described above. It is not published on this site yet; until it is, write to contact@hexeon.io with any question about your data.
